08 Nov How to Double Your Airbnb Profit In 5 Minutes
Are you ready?
What I am about to tell you is surprisingly easy to do. It will take you less than 5 minutes to set it up! But before I share this secret with you, let me provide you with some context.
When Airbnb first started, the founders realized a huge problem with the listings on its platform. The problem was that all of the photos were poorly taken. They quickly solved this problem by providing a solution.
The solution: Professional Airbnb Photographers.
Guess what? Listings that were taken by professional photographers had instantly doubled their income as opposed to non-professional photographers. It’s the easiest and the fastest way to double your income. In fact, the number 1 challenge to struggling hosts is the quality of their photos.
1 picture is worth a thousand words, but 1 great picture is wordless! 😉 See what I’ve done there?
So, how do you get a professional photographer? There are two ways to get a professional photographer: 1) Airbnb photographers, and 2) third-party photographers through platforms like TaskRabbit.
Airbnb Profit: Airbnb Photographers
They used to offer free photography but long gone the days of free stuff. It wouldn’t be a 30 billion dollar company if they kept offering free things! 😉 On a side note, the waitlist for free photography used to be months, so it’s actually a smart business move on their end.
Anyhoo, there’s another caveat; Airbnb Photography is not live in all of the cities. It’s currently live in popular cities like San Francisco, Mountain View, and New York City. Here is how you can check if it is available in your city.
If you are an eligible Host, Airbnb will detect the location of your listing(s). Click on “Get a Quote.” The price will be shown and will be deducted from your next reservation. It’ll be something like this.
After you request a photo shoot, Airbnb will reach out to independent, local third-party photographers to handle the request. Due to high demand, their availability can’t be guaranteed at all times. This is why I actually do not recommend their services.
My choice is option 2, which is to hire a third-party photographer from the platform like TaskRabbit.

What is TaskRabbit?
TaskRabbit is a technology company that pioneered the “gig economy” and was recently bought by a Swedish company – IKEA. Ikea is one of my favorite places to buy furniture because they are cheap and stylish.
I have had only positive experiences with TaskRabbit and I highly recommend them. Here are the reasons why I am inclined to book with them.
- Truly on-demand; I can book a TaskRabbit to come in and take photos on the same-day. Unlike Airbnb’s photography service, the waitlist might be weeks or even months. That wait-time is potential revenue lost.
- It is easy to use. The whole process takes 3 simple steps.
- 1 million in protection. Every Tasker has been thoroughly vetted and every task is insured up to $1 million.
- Great customer service!
Those combinations are hard to beat. If you have the time, Airbnb’s native service might not be a bad option. If you’re pressed for time because you don’t want to lose on potential revenue lost, then hiring a third-party photographer is the only way to go!
Follow these 3 simple steps to hiring a Tasker.
Step 1 – Signing Up
If you are new to TaskRabbit, you will need to create an account with them. The easiest way to sign up is to link your social profiles, but if you don’t want to give them too much information about yourself, then sign up with your email. Click here to sign up.
Step 2- Pick a task
- Type assembly into the search box.
- Enter your Task Location
- Input your Task Details
- Select your Tasker.
Step 3 – Pay
- Enter your credit or debit card information.
- Done!
Airbnb Profit Pro tip: Once you established a relationship with your TaskRabbit, then you can exchange information privately.
Why do I do this? TaskRabbit is a service that charges both the user and the professional. For example, if the service costs $100 dollars, then TaskRabbit will charge you 7.5% fee and another 25% from the professional. Those fees will add up as you utilize their services, so save yourself some extra cash by following my pro-tip!
Airbnb Profit Ultra-pro tip: When you hire your photographer, stress the fact that you’ll need the pictures delivered to you in 24 hours and in the format of JPG( it’s a digital format that Airbnb takes).
How easy was that? I bet that took you less than 5 minutes. 🙂
